WOW Looks incredible!!! My buddy owns a body shop near me and says he has some REALLY hard PPG mix he uses for bumpers. I need to eventually get the hood painted as well because of 50k+ of Autobahn miles stone chips.. :frown5: I am on my 3rd windshield in 2 years so you can imagine the hood.
No, I think Donkey believes the stones are part of his diet now but he just can't get his mouth open fast enough..:skep:

I gave my painter the front tow hook cover to use for their color match reading. They did a perfect match.
Aero bumper is now painted and assembled. :arf: I don't want to put it on yet because tomorrow and the next day we are expecting a heavy snow storm. The painter matched the dark silver perfectly as well. I think I am a little obsessed though, I have already given it it's first waxing.. I am thinking if i should wax the insides of the ducts as well.. Metalman, any tips for the install? When I added my Helix intercooler it took about an hour and a half total time so I am thinking 30 or so minutes to do this.

So you have already removed the original bumper when you did the Helix..... Then you know it's not a hard task. I hope you also bought the new mounting hardware that is spelled out in the parts list? I broke some of the plastic ones so it was nice having some extra. Take your time snapping the black plastic pieces into the bumper, I used a soft cargo blanket because you will need to do some pulling and tugging to get all the snaps in place. Make sure they lock with a faint snap sound. I discovered some of them weren't totally engaged. a flat blade screw driver works well for this. They will be tough to get to once the new bumper is in place. My biggest worry was accidentally scratching the new painted bumper. Be careful with the old bumper. Ones in good shape will sell easier at a better price. Mine went back into the cardboard shipping box for storage. A nice warm work area is highly recommended. Take your time with the paper template for the air ducts. I used a box cutter with a sharp blade. I also ran xerox copies of the original template because they are paper and I wanted a spare to fall back on if needed. I had to jiggle the new bumper around a little before I got all the standoffs to seat on the bumper frame member. I also didn't completely snug down the fasteners until I was satisfied with the fit. This allowed me to tweak the position until the bumper was centered. One thing I wished I had done before taking the old bumper off. You might want to do this. get an average gap measurement on the right and left side where the bonnet meets the bumper. The gap just below the two headlights. I'm thinking the new bumper has a slightly bigger gap. So this Spring I'll need to see if that gap can be adjusted out. That's just one of those nit picky things. Any way good luck...... Take your time.
