After putting one fuel pump in after the other i have realized that all together i have tried 8 different fuel pump they all seemed to stop working after 2-3 days i could hear the clunk noise instead of the normal feeding noise when the fuel pump is actually working. It crossed my mind the other day that my car was involved in a accident when i had it and maybe the cut out switch could have been triggered and i might need to reset it manually by pressing the button. But where is the cut out switch on a 2006 mini cooper s ?
Thank you very much in advance ! -
hi mcs02 , are you 100% sure mcs have a intertia switch ?
ive been working my ass off trying to find it but couldnt , if i find it god bless you ! -
According to this PDF http://www.bmw-planet.com/lib/mini/BODY%20CONTROL%20MODULE.pdf
Beginning with vehicles produced 09/02, the inertia switch has been eliminated. All functions previously performed by the inertia switch are now done by the MRS4 Control Module.
Which then leads us to this PDF when looking for the MRS4 Control Module. http://www.bmw-planet.com/lib/mini/PASSIVE%20RESTRAINT.pdf -
Hi nathan, i dont have a clue to what you just said ? can you please re phrase that for me, thanks

What I was pointing out is that the immobilizer has been moved. Possibly those PDF's I posted could be helpful in determining where the unit now is housed.

Does anyone own or had the same problem with a 2006 mini cooper s ?
If so i need your help asap !

On the newer cars with the fuel pump located in the gas tank, the gas acts as a coolant and absorbs the heat generated by the pump. That is why most New Car dealers and Mechanics say to not let the tank get lower than down to a 1/4 tank. and if you ran it completely out and kept cranking the car there is a good chance that the fuel pump has overheated and burned out, it's just my personal way of doing things to not let it get lower than a 1/4 tank and when it does I'm looking for a gas station. I learned the hard way on a '88 Mustang about not letting the tank run empty before putting gas in and hence the reason I never get lower than a 1/4 tank before I start looking for a gas station.
