How much of a pain was doing the headliner? Mine is boring light grey and I'm looking at replacing it with some custom fabric.
And I'm curious if anyone has used a non-knit, non-stretch fabric for a headliner. Intuition tells me anything besides speciality headliner material or a stretch material will be difficult to get down flat over all the curves. -
Headliner was pretty easy, I used this to help www.zippeeshade.com/archives/540
It's a sunroof repair how to but it goes through all details of headliner removal.
I looked all over for a patterned headliner material to be "unique" but other than camo, there isn't anything really out on the interweb that's easy to find. I have tried other fabrics in the past and never had any luck with them. I also suggest that you have two people when you go to lay the new headliner down on the shaped cardboard. I used exactly one can of 3M headliner spray to coat the cardboard and a light coat on the material. Cleaning the foam off the cardboard is the only PIA of the project. I used a nylon wire brush from the welding section at Home Depot and my shop vac as I went. That crap is sticky and gets everywhere.
