Thumbing thru these pics it looks like I forgot to include my regular ride motorcycle..

    This is a 1974 BMW R60/6.

I got the bike from a friend/family friend who owned it since new. I remember this bike not long after he got it and he started hanging around with my dad (who also rode BMWs in the day)

It had been in storage for over 20 years and when he passed away about 3 years ago I dug it out of his garage, pushed it home and fixed it up to make it my forever bike.

It has well over 100,000 miles (the top odometer digit randomly moves, so I dont know the current miles) and Scott, the original owner made many modifications including additional fork, swingarm and chassis braces, upgraded suspension components, a larger gas tank, and police style fenders and solo seat. I have upgraded almost all of the lighting to LED for better visibility and less power draw. The bike is not fast and the drum brakes dont stop very well, but are ok at a moderate pace. The 600cc engine is comfortable for long stretches at 65-70 and can do a bit more but not too much more.. it is more fun on back roads than highways. It gives me the feel of an old motorcycle, but with the reliability of a more modern bike.

Here is a pic from the day I pulled it out of the garage and a more recent picture.

It’s nice seeing a 50 year old machine being used and enjoyed as it was intended to be.

Got a last minute call while out on a motorcycle ride to attend a curated car show..
My friend had a driver lined up who was a no-show due to a logistics misunderstanding..
So I got to take the Jowett Jupiter out again.

My favorite for the day was this cool looking Devin

What a great diverse group of vehicles. If’n you couldn’t find something to tickle your fancy out of that group there’s just no hope for you.

My 1963 Sunbeam Alpine is back on the road after almost 3 months of dealing with clutch related issues.

Not sure on the order of what caused what, but the throw-out bearing was worn down to metal, the pressure plate was chewed up and the clutch was still ok, but very close to the end of it's serviceable life. Clutch master and slave cylinders were also not in great shape.

It took me a while to diagnose what was wrong and then schedule a time to get the car to a friend who does side work on British cars from his home, and then get the car transported the 50 miles to his place. Ordered up a new clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing.

We had a bunch of difficulty because parts that were on the car had been converted to a different size clutch, so I also needed to procure a used flywheel to match the original size new components and get it machined/cleaned up (no longer available new). A new clutch slave got the car drivable, but after about 20 minutes when things got warm it would not go into gear when the engine was running. A new clutch master is not currently available new, and my attempt at rebuilding did not go well.
We are able to adapt a slightly different sized Triumph TR6 master and new line piping to finally get everything working.

Nice to get the car back.. I put the Hardtop on for the first time in 4 years.. I like the look, but enjoy having an open top more, so it wont stay on long.

Yea.. it is a nice looking driver.. There are lots of little details that could be improved when you get close but it is perfect for what I use it for.

Cars are meant to be driven on real roads not up and down trailer ramps so having a nice driver with real use patina is a great testament to both the car and the driver.
