All of you people, and your debates about "production" MINIs, amuse me.
    "R"this and "F"that. So quaint.

Full custom from the body shell up, or go home.

When you can keep your car right side up and on the ground for more than two weeks after you finish it, then you can hurl your poorly conceived nonsensical invective at us...

This discussion again? Mini builds cars to sell cars, not to appease R53 owners. They sell cars! The days of selling cars without digital displays, led interior lighting, pop up screens, electric do dads, smooth rides is over. Mini has to keep up with all the other manufactures now. The days of a "edgy" sports car is over. Corvette, Porsche, Miata, GTI, ect.....are fast, smooth, and luxurious. I posted my thoughts on the F56 earlier too. Was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't what was told it was. Nice modern interior, still a small car, I'm talking about the 2 door car here, and the car I saw was a JCW. Didn't drive it so can't comment. But BMW did repair the most glaring thing, well I think was, on the previous generation car, the Peugeot engine. Exterior, well aside from the front bumper, looks nice and modern, which, is how you sell cars! Not sure what all the fuss is? If you like the R53, well then get one or keep the one you already have, same for the R56. Motor On!

TFFY. Unless you only have one. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Someone has to do the heavy lifting unless/until Dave gets back...

Yeah well it took us a little time to find something as enjoyable to make fun of as bytetronic and sprintex.

Actually, you were making fun of the "justa" and the "R56" before those two.

No fair. I never made fun of the Justa. I damned near bought one. Those suckers dominated their autox class in a way the S never could.

    I plead the 5th on the R56.

I'm pretty sure that's already been taken care of, thanks for the sentiment though.

But I appreciate you using the "Motor On", since it was my one contribution to the MINI community. The irony of being insulted by your own creation is strangely so satisfying. I'm so flattered!

Can't say I disagree, but the 16k intervals were absolutely Ludacris.

It's ok, they can keep buying R53s, and hopefully I can keep converting people into MINI enthusiasts. These cars still capture the attention of people looking for a fun and economical car, a lot of interested buyers are those looking to downsize from their kid haulers.

I hear the new Miata's pretty nice. One fine example of an automaker doing the right thing and downsizing for the new generation.

I doubt there's even an access port for the dipstick to be added, sadly - BMWs haven't had dipsticks for years, it was only a matter of time before MINIs lost them as well.

The engines are certainly stout, though - I think there's a lot of ceiling room with them.

    Yep.

Well, aren't you just a special kind of crazy... I think you've hit your head on the roll bar too many times.

    Bingo.

Although, the N18 engine is not bad. I've been impressed with it in the GP.

If you want me to keep mentioning Helix to my F56 customers, you better start wearing those yourself.

Nobody will ever replace Dave's angst.

    :frown2:

Have you measured the pressure drop across the filter or filter content after 10,000 miles?
