Prostate cancer is a different animal. Even the aggressive stuff is not nearly as aggressive as most other cancers; the low grade cancers don't even get treated in most patients, but are watched closely. Robotic surgery has made a measurable impact in recovery.
There are new drugs out for prostate cancer (and a few more on the way), that are fantastic for keeping the disease under control in worse case scenerios, almost converting it into a chronic disease more so than something life threatening.
For the vast majority of patients, with modern treatment, they are either cured, or worst case, die WITH prostate cancer, but not FROM it.-
