For past year, many people have been waiting for the Mynes Remote Tuning Software... but the official name of this product is the MINIFlash Tuning Kit manufactured by Bytetronik LLC, with basemap support from Mynes Tuning. This product is more than just a 'remote tuning' device... It allows MINI owners to have FULL ACCESS to their ECUs...

Here is a little more about the product:
The Bytetronik MINIFlash Tuning Kit is a comprehensive tuning solution for the MINI R50/52/53 owners, providing them the capabilities to fully adjust the mappings inside their stock ECUs. The kit contains both hardware and software components with the following features and capabilities:

Hardware: The hardware is the MINIport OBD-II device along with a USB cable (see picture below). The MINIport also doubles as a data-logger device and can also log AFR (provided you have an Innovate LC1 device) serially. DOES NOT WORK WITH AEM, PLX DEVICES OR ANY OTHER WIDEBAND SERIAL COMMUNICATION. ONLY INNOVATE PRODUCTS (LC1 and MTX-L AFR Kits) ARE SUPPORTED AT THIS TIME.

Innovate Serial Interface that can be plugged into the MINIport to log AFR:

    MINIFlash FullAccess User Software Interface!!!

Software: The FullAccess (FA53) software is a Bytetronik proprietary software designed specifically for the MINI R53 platform. It’s about 10MB in size and can easily be installed on any Windows Platform (Windows 2000 or newer with a minimum of 512MB of RAM). The FA53 has an easy to use GUI for user to easily navigate through the various levels of tasks and commands, and when connected to the MINIport, it allows users to flash and configure their ECUs.

MINIFlash FA53 is a complete tuning kit that allows end-user to perform the following tasks:
    1. Have complete access to the mapping inside the ECU with the ability to adjust 30 parameters that pertain to Air/Fuel, power delivery and drivability.

    2. Have the option to make unlimited maps for various fuel types and perform map-switching via the use of your laptop.

    3. Have the ability to Data-log 30+ parameters via the OBD Port for trouble-shooting and performance monitoring.

    4. Have the ability to Read Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and Clear them.

    5. Have the ability to Clear ECU Adaptations.

Feature 1: ECU Adjustments. This allows the user to adjust the mappings inside the ECU and tune the engine to maximize the fuel that’s being used. Once you are satisfied with tune, you can save the map and reload it back into the ECU at any given time.

Feature 2: Map Switching. Once the maps are made (typically for 91 Octane, 93 Octane, 100 Octane, Methanol or E85 fuel), then you can simply switch it back by loading the particular map that best suits the situation. For instance, if you are currently running E85 but there are no E85 stations to be found nearby, then it would be wise to get your laptop out, load the “pump gas” map once you fill it up at the next gas station. In addition, you might want to clear the Adaptation while you’re at it.

Feature 3: Data Logging. If you want to see how the car is running while you’re driving. Simply disconnect the USB cable from the MINIport device (while leaving it connected to the car’s OBD-II port), and the data-logging feature is now active. Blinking red/green/blue lights indicate that the MINIport is actively logging 30+ parameter at 8 samples-per-second, and all this information is stored on the onboard micro-SD card. To view the logs, simply connect the USB cable to the MINIport device and you will see the data on your laptop (it will show up as a “Removable Storage Drive”). All MINIports will include a 2GB micro-SD card pre-installed from the factory.

Feature 4: Read DTCs and clear them. Is your MINI throwing a Check-Engine Light? Well, instead of reaching for the OBD Scanner, why not just turn on your laptop and see what’s causing the code. And once you find out what the code is about, you can always clear it thru the FA53 software.

Feature 5: Clearing Adaptations. Is your car running sluggish lately? Well, check out the data-log and see if there’s anything that looks unusual. What about the “Long Term Fuel Trims”? Is the ECU learning some of your bad habits and over-compensating? If so, simply go to the FA53 GUI and clear the adaptation values. With the MINIflash, you don’t need a BMW Factory tool (GT1 or Autologic) to perform this task… simply select a command in FA53 and turn off the ignition for 5 minutes for permanent changes, then you should be good to go…

In the coming days, we will post up more tech articles and installation steps regarding the MINIflash Tuning Kit. This way, customers are well-equipped to hit the ground running once the kit is delivered to your door steps.

Been waiting impatiently for this, Mike!

Now I feel like I will be able to hang on to my MINI for decades and not have to worry about accessibility of the ECU programming!

PS: Still loving the mods and dyno tune you guys did on "Murray" almost two years ago!

edit: ummm... What's that website URL again? Seems like the one I always used before ( www.MynesTuned.com ) returns Error 404: Not Found...

There will be discounts for previously Mynes Tuned customers. Customers in the UK and Europe will get similar discounts from 1320MINI in the UK (they will be our Wholesale Distributor for that region).

For shops who would like to purchase a fully working unit at SAMPLE Pricing (limit one per shop), please send me an email or PM with your Business license and we will get you on the Shipping Queue. This way, you can eval the product before deciding whether you'd like to be a stocking dealer for us.

It's a free forum layout, we have no control how it is laid out. If we used vbullentin, then we would have better control of colors, fonts, layouts etc. You have to choose from different layouts and add your logo etc. We will post info here for people who don't want to go there to view. Would that work for you? LOL

MINIFlash Full Access (FA53) End User Interface (GUI)

Here's a screen shot of what it looks like, and some of the mappings the end user can adjust on their own or a tuner of your choice.

Mike, MSRP is $750 for the MINIFlash Tuning Kit. I'm working on a post to put here on MA (but having a hard time figuring out how to configure a table on my post) :mad2:

There will be an Introductory Price for a short period of time. Customers (such as yourself) who have been Mynes Tuned will get further discount off that price.

UK and European customers will get a discount from 1320MINI in the UK (they will be the Warehouse Distributor for the UK and Europe markets).

Mike, in what way can the user change the spark advance and avoid detonation? Is there any way the user will know whenthe engine is detonating?

Nick, that's where Feature 3 comes in handy... you can log thru the OBD2 port and review the data-logs and check out the "knock-voltage" and "timing retard" values (along with 30 other engine parameters):

Feature 3: Data Logging. If you want to see how the car is running while you’re driving. Simply disconnect the USB cable from the MINIport device (while leaving it connected to the car’s OBD-II port), and the data-logging feature is now active. Blinking red/green/blue lights indicate that the MINIport is actively logging 30+ parameter at 8 samples-per-second, and all this information is stored on the onboard micro-SD card. To view the logs, simply connect the USB cable to the MINIport device and you will see the data on your laptop (it will show up as a “Removable Storage Driveâ€). All MINIports will include a 2GB micro-SD card pre-installed from the factory.

This is a video demo of the data-logs viewed thru the Data-Viewer Program (sold separately)...

As previously mentioned, "The FullAccess (FA53) software is a Bytetronik proprietary software " and the hardware (MINIPort) is also Proprietary. So if you have an OBD Device that does not have the "Bytetronik" sticker on it, it's NOT going to work with MINIFlash FullAccess. Just an FYI..
