    Im going to pick up 1 inch by 50 feet right now to wrap my obx 4-2-1 header, one layer, and carbon spray before the wrapping. Wish i had a lift; it would make this process of installation a lot easier.

    I don't think 50' will be enough, especially with the 1"

    Looks like I need to do this when I install a Thumper head. Wonder if the contained heat will hurt the cat.

    I don't think it will, the headers are thiner wall than oem manifold, that's why there's more heat with an unwrapped header.

    Just put in my order for the V2 header + OEM cat. I'll also be buying some 2" header wrap. I wonder if stainless steel safety wire (applied with the proper tools) will help hold the wrap down.

    it's holding it down just fine, I just thought it would be tighter. You're gonna like the header.:Thumbsup:

    SS wire or copper wire works great. I've used both over the years on mine.

    No, I said safety wire, not the straps. Anyway, longboard says he's done it that way to good effect (and also with copper wire, though I'd be worried about the wire cracking due to fatigue eventually), so I plan to do the install with .023 inch diameter safety wire.

    VERY MUCH looking forward to installing the headers! I believe this is the last part of the puzzle for my MINI engine (until a future rebuild, anyway).
