I'll bet the old 16th century cannoneers knew that would happen......

Most people don't realize that a lot of homes can be easily entered with a "box knife" as long as you make your cuts in the wall between the wooden studs. Exception being a stone or brick houses. A vinyl sided house is little more than 1/16" of vinyl, 5/8 of fiberboard, fiberglass insulation and 1/2" of plasterboard. Absolutely no resistance to a cannon ball bouncing across a yard.
I'll huff and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down.-

Yeah, they need to marry it up with the guys from Top Gear. Put Clarkson in the minivan and get him to run a road course and see how many cannon balls he can take hits from......

The big question though.... Was the myth "Busted"?
-
It must have been an incredibly powerful shot to go completely through the house, and leave perfectly round holes like this in the walls:
It sounds funny when you first hear about the story, but it could have killed multiple people.
The exit hole:

First pic is probably an interior wall which normally doesn't have insulation. The second pic of the exterior you can clearly see the pink insulation.

What do you think they said when they saw that flyer?

I bet they wont get to use the Alameda bomb range any more.
I also wonder if they will show the incident in full on their show. -
Holy :eek6: I didn't realize how frigging far that thing went! I surer hope they don't have to stop using the bomb range though. Mythbusters is my favorite show, Top Gear is second :biggrin5:
