Wow, 6 days of discussion about the problem and it's still not fixed. Maybe I can get a credit for my advertising over there.

Checked this morning using Safari and I could get to the main page then when I went to Market Place got the warning. Not really that upset as I have enjoyed the discussions over here on MA.

For me it was free. At one time I'd have actually paid for it, but that time ended long ago. Now I'd say it's free & worth every penny.
I do hope they can clean up their act. Lots of good info there, but not worth risking cooties in my confuser for it. -
Who is looking?! -

I can understand Way's concern. He advertises there more that anyone else I know of. Hope he doesn't pay by the advert.
I'm sure there are still folks blissfully unaware that cooties are climbing into there confusers while surfing NAM. -

So where lays the responsibility for "Safe Surfing" on a site?
If your systems are damaged through no fault of your own, and the litigious world we live in, how long before a class action lawsuit? -

Oh well, better late than never.
Class action lawsuit. Lawyers love them... -

The tricky part is when the owner becomes aware of the damage being done and the time it takes to fix the problem.

So for the hell of it Peter gives IB a call this morning and speaks to " our " rep. At first she claims that she doesn't know what he is talking about and he takes her thru the process of searching for the site and low and behold she gets the red square of death warning . She acts all surprised but when he says that how can we feel comfortable sending our customers to a site that gives our malware as a lovely parting gift she suddenly became all aware of the situation and said something to the effect that NAM is fine its the servers that have a problem. All in all its BS and has gone on for just about a week now . I go there on my Ipad and for the most part it is business usual and hardly anyone seems to be aware of the risk they are taking .

Have they made an announcement?
NO:frown2:
Have they provided a page listing what tools to use to see if you are infected?
NO:incazzato:
Have they listed the infections possible? Or listed which OS's or browsers were vulnerable?
NO..they just say not so serious...:mad5:
But if you read through the Google links...one site used 22 (if i remember right exploits to try to commandeer your machine, another 4, another 2!).
Sure it happens....but their handling of it has been totally irresponsible...it has gone on far too long...Make me wonder if someone in IB was mad (due to a pay-cut perhaps, or maybe doesn't like his co-workers?) and slipped in the redirect..knowing the site was vulnerable, and got a cut of the $$ made by selling the machines that were taken over!!
Machines that are compromised are sold...kinda packaged in groups, and used in a modern day protection racket....the old line.."It would be a shame if your betting website was "unreachable" for the world Series...give us $$, and we will make sure it does not happen....other machines are used to forward spam...but this is less common..it slows down machines so much...folks get it fixed quick...but machines used in the DOS attacks, can be used time and time again...and the owner never notices...it just seems SLOW on some days...:confused5: -
