    A lot of guys run Dunlop Direzza ZII star spec. Wheels: Enkie RPF1 or 949 racing wheels. I think the 949.... Depending on size may need spacers but that would be a question to ask someone more qualified.

    As to the rest :biggrin5: yeah, okay, some of this wording is a bit confusing. A couple things are clear, though.

    1) Will 225/45s on 16x7s w/ 35mm offset fit his 2nd Gen (assuming it's not an R52) MINI? That's specific and straight forward but I don't know 2nd gen clearances. Anyone?

    I've put 225/45s on 16x7.5 and 16x8. To my eye 8" is the limit for 225s, only go with a wider wheel if you want stretch. The 225s were also a close fit in the wheel wells, would be worse if the offset wasn't near perfect, but that was on a 1st Gen car. 225 on 7.5" works and looks great. Only guessing but I think 225s on 7" wheels might be a bit much. On the other hand, in the looks dept it's all in the eye of the beholder. What wheel is that 16x7 you've found?

    2) He's looking for other wheel options with offsets that will clear on his 2nd Gen when wrapped in 225/45s.

    I've been running Star Specs 225/45R16 on Enkei PF01 16x7, et43 on a first gen.
    Requires 5mm spacer up front, no spacer in rear. My car is quite low, but both front and rear can require some trim trimming to eliminate rubbing. On a less-lowered car, should be fine. I think second gen clearance is very similar, at similar ride height. But R56's tend to ride higher I think, all else being equal.

    Yeah, I'd assume the general clearance between springs and wheel arches is at least similar but what always worries me most is the wheel offset and I have no idea whether that requirement changed between 1st and 2nd gen.

    Tire Rack's configurator shows the same fitment for 2nd gen in the PF01 - 16x7, 43 offset.

    It's certainly possible that clearance will be plus or minus a few mm one way or the other, requiring slightly more or less spacer for strut clearance, or more or less ride height or trimming to provide clearance at the wheel arch or wheel well liner contact points...

    225 is a FAT tire for this car. 215 is usually pretty safe for fit, 225 will often have some rubbing, until it doesn't. :cornut:
