I add a similar but not exact setup on my 03 MCS with H&R springs (so lower than the GP). I had 17x7.0 +38 wheels with 215/40-17 tires. Car was lowered with H&R springs (about 1" drop compared to 5/8" GP drop). With the 7" wheels and the H&R springs I had slight rubbing on the rear wheel arches when the suspension was loaded. I had to trim away some of the plastic trim to eliminate the rub.
Your setup will be slightly wider (closer to the wheel arch) due to 7.5 verse 7.0 wheel but the GP is not as low so I think you will be OK but it will be close.
One reason I think you will be OK is that with my 06 GP, I have 18x7 wheels with 37 offset and 215/40-18 tires with stock JCW springs and I only had slight rubbing with the suspension loaded (again a little trimming of the plastic arch resolved the rub). So you will have a slightly wider wheel 7.5" verse 7.0" but an inch shorter wheel (17 vs 18) which will provide extra clearance.
My guess is that you will the possibility of slight rubbing on the rear wheel arch but that the rubbing can be eliminated with a little plastic trimming.

Yes the R90 wheel will fit fine because the wheel is 17x7 with 48mm offset However the OP is trying to fit 17x7.5 with 37 offset which pushed the wheel/tire much closer to the rear wheel arch.

You'll be fine. Do it!. You could always change tires if they rub after you lower it.

For what it is worth since 2003 I have had the same size tire with R-90 rims. Last year through a set of Hankook Venus 215/45/17's with no rubbing front or back. I don't like the wider side wall, will be changing them in the spring. Others in the the area also run with the 215/40/17 star spec's on their lowered R53's with no issues.

Yep, they'll stick out a good extra 3/4" or so.

On the wheel, yes, on the car, no way. Tried it and it didn't work.

It's been a while since I tried that size tire. If I remember correctly when the car came down off the lift we could not roll it. The back tires were very firmly wedged in there.

We never did play around with it once we couldn't move the car.
