New and Improved R53 Ceramic Composite Heat Shield
M7 constantly strives to build better products. When new, better technology becomes available we try to incorporate it into existing products. This is the case with our new, improved R53 Ceramic Composite heat shield! Our new shield has a 16% better coefficient of thermal conductivity then the previous aerogel material. This new shield supersedes the original Aerogel shield.
The R53 Ceramic Composite heat shield is designed to cut down on the ever-destructive heat soak from the exhaust manifold in the engine compartment. Its main function is to reduce under hood temperatures so that the supercharger intercooler stays cooler. Cooler air is denser that hot air. The result is an increase in power over a non-heat shielded engine. Ceramic Composite is widely used in demanding professional motorsports series such as NASCAR and ALMS. Besides being incredibly efficient, the new shield looks good, too!
Our new Ceramic Composite Heat Shield now includes all hardware for easy installation. The shield can easily be installed in less than 30 minutes using common hand tools.
