Read closer. R53 available, R56 in the works. Drop Kellen an email and they'll contact you when the R56 becomes available.

Where did you read that? In his OP, said nothing about an R53? Reason I said my original post was because they had stopped making them for the R53, they have them for the R56. I have one for my car already, was hoping Steve could start selling the one for the R53 again as so many people wanted them

Read Craven's website. You'll find it there. They expect to have deliveries begin January 31st... Prepaid mine already.

Yes. To Clarify, the R53 (+R50 and R52) version of the dipstick is what will be ready to go first and has a confirmed shipping date of before January 31st. We plan on making a Prince engine version as well for Gen 2 owners, but I do not know the timetable for that. Let us know if you are waiting on Gen 2 and that might help push the schedule a little.

If there were an obvious choice for which would hold up better we would take it. We have used both finishes an a variety of parts and they both do well and are made to last. At the moment is sounds like anodize is leading the charge and that would be a fine choice for longevity.

The sinker, where you will read the oil level is made from stainless steel. It has 6 concave rings in it and the oil beads up and stays put in whichever rings have been dunked. This makes it very easy to read.

If you want polished handle let me know right away and I can make sure that it doesn't go out for finishing.

I prefer powder in the engine bay as sometimes heat causes red anodization to start to go a pinkish-purple over time.

There are some good arguments for both sides. After reading your comments and talking it over here; we have opted for the powder coat. It will have the same finish as our Red Tow Hooks. The finish will be bright, but not glossy, and will be tough and colorfast enough to last a long time.

Thanks to all for their input. The Handles are already at the painter and we are still on schedule to get the Gen One models shipped before the end of this month!

I like this dipstick, but dropping close to 100 clams after shipping on it makes me shudder a bit.

Ya, I agree, it's an expensive investment to be sure. But, regardless of the price, it's a huge improvement over OEM and the stick likely won't break and drop into the bowels of the motor. Glad to see it come back to life.

:cornut: More important to me is the business end. Is it easy to read the oil level even when the oil is clean and fairly transparent? Are there easy to read tick marks? Is it low light friendly? Please show us a picture of the business end with oil on it.

:cornut:Had you been reading all along, you would have known that and would have known that an R56 one was on the way which will,no doubt, have the same markings on the distal tip. You really need to keep up. Now you may open your mouth and change feet, then put mind in gear before driving on. Then drop and give me 50 flutter kicks.
