The Senior Film Critic at Variety has already seen Rush. He published his favorable review about a half hour ago. Encouraging, yet very strange, to see a main stream critic not slamming something so focused on motor racing.
Here is a snip, link to full review below.

Here's another F1 movie, release date sometime this October. I heard about it some time ago but there hasn't been much buzz and I completely forgot about it.
The title is 1. That's it, the number 1.

The folks at Universal slid Road & Track this this new Rush teaser, focused on the actors learning about the F1 cars their characters drive in the film

I have an unusual take on things like this Variety review.
History shows that the more acclaim a movie receives from mainstream critics, etc, the more likely I'll either hate it or be bored by it. It's not always true, though very nearly, but it seems these critics and I differ greatly in our definition of entertainment. So, though this gives me hope Rush may draw a broader audience and, less likely, maybe even convert a few people to interest in motor racing, I'm less convinced now that I'll actually enjoy the movie.
Meh, I'll soon find out.-

I just finished watching the movie 1 and loved it.
I also was able to watch it on my big-assed tv. I have the Youtube "app" on my Xbox and noticed that it now allows you to watch whatever video you have playing on your PC or tablet on your tv. There is an option to "pair" the Xbox to Youtube and it makes it easy to watch videos on the tv....kinda nice for things like this.-

Let's hope so, if I see one more racing movie showing a driver downshifting to pass whilst they are going down the long straight at 200mph ima going to puke....:sly:

As with Apollo 13, Ron tells a story you already know in a way that keeps you interested the whole time. (Almost like it was brand new.) Even Herself (who doesn't care for racing) said it was one of the best constructed movies she's seen in quite awhile, and a good story too boot.
Agree with Dave.0, it is a disc I'll own.(Hopefully this emoticon doesn't get me in trademark trouble with other movie reviewers.)
