This should be a good one, I went to the Glen from 1973 through 1977

and it was a remarkable time for f-1 racing, so different from today.

 

I was there too....great time watching the events of the BOG! Remember the Japanese Tour Bus?

 

Ah yes the dear ole bog, this younger generation would not have believed

it. Now it's all filled in and looking pretty!!:cryin:

 

Yea, but is the bus still under the pretty surface!

 

I could be mistaken, but wasn't it a Brazilian Tour Bus with Fittipaldi supporters there to see him wrap up the WDC?

I remember the rising pillar of black smoke and the gut feeling that someone had a bad shunt on track. I've got loads of 35mm slides of the bus carnage but here's a great site with photos to jog the memories from the depths...

I was there in '76 slept in my 240Z during the rain on Saturday. Drove from California after getting transfer there from Hawaii. Got to race there in 2003 with SCCA on both tracks.

 

I believe that you are correct on it being full of crazy Brazilians (thankfully
they were not on it when they torched it). I vividly remember a new
Corvette being burned the next year. And I still can't believe that no one
was killed during those years, by that I mean that an owner of one of those
cars didn't kill the creeps that were burning them!

 

Can't wait, all the current f-1 people like it, that's good enough for me.

As an F1 fan, I can't wait to see this. I bought the "Rush to Glory" book in hopes it will shed better insight to the rivalry.

"1" looks awesome. Can't get enough of Formula 1 movies IMO. I'm taping the series "Patrick Dempsey: Racing Le Mans."

 

I am putting both of these on my "Must Have" Blue ray list.

 

1 looks to be every bit as good as Senna.
