That's N/A for me. A movie either entertains me or it doesn't, period. If I decide to see a movie, all that stuff melts away when the lights go out and it's up to the movie to stand on its own. Hype, reviews, etc, only affect how likely I am to want to see a movie, they don't change the way a movie does or doesn't affect me after I've already decided I want to see it. And, FWIW, I still want to see Rush despite the reviews.
I just read this movie is coming out in the next week or so. Didn't see dates though so I'm not sure how valid. Also, the title seems to have morphed a bit. I'm seeing recent reports calling it: 1 1: Life on the Limit One: Life on the Limit Life on the Limit and Life on the Limit: Triumph and Tragedy in Formula One The trailer hasn't changed, though (other than in name), still looks excellent! I just finished watching the movie 1 and loved it. I also was able to watch it on my big-assed tv. I have the Youtube "app" on my Xbox and noticed that it now allows you to watch whatever video you have playing on your PC or tablet on your tv. There is an option to "pair" the Xbox to Youtube and it makes it easy to watch videos on the tv....kinda nice for things like this.
For them what has an Apple TV or like me, a computer hooked into the TV Rush is available for preorder, and will be downloadable or rentable on the 14th https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/rush/id700911218 (iTunes link) And there's a documentary just about Hunt vs Lauda, available as well. https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/1976-hunt-vs.-lauda/id777901904 (iTunes link) And 1 is available now on iTunes, though with an Apple TV or computer you could just watch the Youtube link above (which was great btw, thanks!) https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie//id689033521 (iTunes link)
Well, I just found it too and watched it tonight with much anticipation. Lots of sex, drinking, dysfunctional drivers and oh yeh, just a tad bit of actual racing. Very disappointing movie. Ron normally does better than that. :frown2:
Jim, if you're talking about Rush, it didn't do much for me either. You might enjoy 1: Life on the Limit, though, I loved it. The trailer doesn't make it clear but it's actually a documentary with great interviews and all real footage. Check out a couple clips. While I didn't think Rush was the greatest movie around, I did like it. Actually thought that they stayed on target with it being a racing movie and didn't story too far off track with the extra crap they usually throw in. Just enough to let you know what was going on in each of their lives off track..
