the price we were originally quoted was $39,950, but this week we've seen the $41,700 price quotes pop up. Heard it is for real, heard it was a mistake, heard all sorts of rumors, but nothing confirmed yet. And MINI isn't dishing out info.

I hate to say it, but unless you're a collector or absolute MINI nut that won't own anything else, yikes! $40k+ fees can get you right wheel drive, double the horsepower, better handling, better..... everything.... Outside of being a special edition, there isn't a single performance or option part on that car that can't be had elsewhere in something far cooler for the price. :(

Way, a Motoring Adviser up here said $39950 is the price even with the added options.

The article title doesn't say it but price ends up the bottom line for the latest PistonHeads review as well.

So basically all I got out of the review was that I can get an MCS for $16K less and make it **** kick a GP with half of the saved $16k.

    Unimpressed.
