The writing was on the wall, MINI2 had a horrible split and has never recovered after it was sold, NAM is just history repeating itself. It's not like it's a major surprise.
I didn't realize you were offered money to run NAM by IB, I always thought your heart was in the right place in starting MA, but I'm even more impressed with that being the case.
Does Drew get paid over there? In a weird way, I'd at least understand his motivation then, even if it's misplaced. If no one over there is getting paid, then it's essentially an ego trip thing, letting themselves be violated by IB in order to have a power trip. How anyone could look themselves in the mirror while being used in such a way is beyond me.

Anyway, when I learned of the convicted sex offender status that was it for me. This is not without precedent either. Remember Deviant? He bought my Space Blue centered BBS wheels way back when. He's also doing time as a sex offender, at least another 10 or so years with the Feds... You don't play with kiddie pron while in the Army. Does not go over well.

LXM in the context used here is a Facebook group. The Acronym stands for League of Extraordinary Miniacs.
It was started by Donald Bram. The whys and stuff are conjecture that are best left for around a fire at MOTD. Suffice to say that the way the group was seeded was Mr. Bram "invited" one to be a member. However, that "invite" caused the unsuspecting user to be automatically a member with instant email notification of every action. Many cried foul yet the practice did not stop. Some people opted out, me, yet was pulled back in again. That happened to many. Curiously, there was much protestation by Mr. Bram when a link between him and Barry the Bad (MC2) was established.
But...what can I say. I bailed from being paid by Internet Brands to run NAM to start M/A. This is America, the land of opportunity.

I think you mean MINI2, the UK based site that was purchased by Vertical Scope. The results of that purchase were MINITorque and totalMINI starting. In the US after NAM was sold a few new sites popped up, none gained traction as the owners didn't have the commitment.
When NAM was sold I was asked to stay on as the admin. While Mark F didn't pay me in cash I did go to MINI events such as MOTD with expenses covered by NAM. IB being at the time a public company bought NAM, I asked to be paid. They laughed at me, said they would never pay admins since so many wanted to do that for free. 4 months later when no one was really doing anything to run NAM a contract and check arrived from them. They told me to keep quiet as admins on other sites are not paid.
I told Drew, when I quit, to tell IB he wanted money. As far as I know he never did.
I sent a guy named Tom a message about getting together with his group and I was told to pm "john Cooper" aka slimeball. When I asked his real name he never responded.
