It would cost an arm and leg to tow it there. So here's something interesting, I took the car on the highway for the first time, I went about 10 miles, I cleared the codes before getting on the highway, I never once got the code or limp mode light, but the car still didn't have full power. It seems that the car only throws the 1497 code at idle and low speeds.
Get an AAA membership. You get four tows a year for about 100 Bucks. I wouldn't own a car without also having an AAA membership. Your auto insurance may also offer a towing service, either are well worth it.
Sorry, I hope they fix it. When you find out what it was please come back and tell us, it may help some one els.
Traded the car in, they couldn't figure it out and wanted to charge additional on top of the "diagnostic fee" of 180 to do additional checking. Load of ****, I'm pretty irritated. I pretty much told them they're criminals for asking for more money on top of the already paid "diagnostic fee". I wasn't going to give them more money to figure out what was wrong because they couldn't in the first place. Pretty sure that's why I paid 180 in the first place.
