There is a difference, but if it shifts great for you that is all that matters.
A dual clutch transmission is like a manual that shifts its clutches automatically. Some people love them (me) while others hate them. They aren't as smooth as a normal torque converter automatic.
I think in some parts of the world MINI is using a dual clutch. Not sure if the 2019 has it or not.

As another *ahem* oldster I also have the flappy paddles and like them just fine. I use my 2009 Clubman S to tow my classic Minis all over the country and it does great - even without JCW levels of HP. Welcome to the forum....more than a few of us old farts here....

Welcome to MA! Nice looking JCW! Black what a great color but man not good to keep clean. My wife and I went to a couple car shows in my R58 (Black) today. I had to dust it off even though it sat in the garage all night. I drive her up the wall trying to keep it clean.

You have to come to terms with that aspect. Mine is clean 2 x 30 minutes a month! Have carports, no garage. I will never buy black again! Oh! Well...

You found my thread on my Innocenti 1300 Export, I also have a thread on my 89 Racing Green and I think there is probably an older thread on my 80 Clubman Estate....I'll go look.
Here's one on my friend's Pickup with a Honda Vtec motor in it too that I worked on in my shop

Welcome to M/A. Nice car !
I too know the joys & pain of a black car. Nothing prettier & nothing harder to keep looking that way. after trying to keep my wife's black Audrey clean I said no more black cars.
My very dark grey bread van isn't much better. How did that happen? Although being retired gives me plenty of time to keep cleaning it. Guess I'm lucky the old folks home has a garage.-

I too love the paddle shifters on my DSG bread van. Snappy shifts when I want them. Beemerchef does your new JCW have a twin clutch box of gears?

Thanks!
Classic Minis.... Would love to see some photos. I think I looked though the 73 Innocenti 1300 thread... Way above my pay-grade in mechanical work! But, I admire that...
I have never seen a 1966 [or close to that year] Austin Cooper SS 1500cc, dual tank. What I had and destroyed! Pathetic youth actions... "If I knew then what I know now"... but then again, maybe I would have not had as much fun...
Stay well, Ara
