Sinking happens, but it's kinda rare. The boats are pretty quick when the wind is good so if they do collide they can definitely get damaged. Here is a video of an international champ IOM race. You can see how quick they go on a run (downwind). The biggest question I always get is what kind of motor does it have. No motors! Just wind power the only things you control are the sails and rudder. Fine tuning is a must. These boats are so well designed that many full size race boats take the designs for themselves, as do the Americas Cup boats. I've seen some of Greg's boats and there is so much detail in them he must never sleep. This is my Star -45 which I also find relaxing to sail , until there is another boat in the water and then all bets are off . Randy
