I am a 40 yr old lady who has always loved the mini cooper and finally bought myself a used 2008 cooper s about 4 months ago. i bought it with around 91000 miles on it and am in love. She is bright yellow with stripes on the hood and she is awesome. That is until my husband went to check my oil from a quick oil light that came on as I turned the corner for like a second and went back off. He went to pull the bonnet release and now it just stays halfway out without going back in........I think I just need a bit of oil because there is no unusual sound coming from the hood but now I can't get under the hood to check it......Please help!! I am by no means a car girl under the hood, but I would like to take care of simple things that I could handle on my own:mtrn:
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community. What year and model please.
Welcome Aboard! The first gen cars have an issue where the ends come off the cables the flip the latches. I don't know if the second gen cars have the same issue.
Sorry I do not have a definitive answer for you but agree that driving it without knowing the oil level could be a costly mistake ..... and Welcome to Motoring Alliance the bestest MINI forum on the interweb !!
