Yup that's what every old MINI owner should do.
Buy the "New Original" F56 it's the greatest MINI ever.

Unfortunately not everything in life is "somebody else's fault" ...I suspect the towing company is going to get a free pass....check you receipt...bet it says not responsible for damage...
Simple fact is you MIGHT have been charged $1000 or MORE in storage expenses while trying to fight it......so you might loose your car cause you will have a storage lien on it you must pay to get it off the dealer lot....:mad2:
Sometimes it is just best to pay the piper, and move on...even if it means fixing the car...then driving down the street to sell it....
Reality is...if you cannot afford a $1000 unexpected expense....you cannot afford a car....sometimes living beyond ones means can get very $$$...
leaving a car stored at a dealer broken is a sure way to loose it...
I feel for you...if you are the same guy that over on NAM had issues a while back, hats off to you for staying with it... but paying $30 a day or $130 week for storage cause you cannot pay a $1000 bill or to get it towed to the house is NUTZ!!
Even if you WIN a small claims case and get paid for the oil pan....you must prove you tried to limit damages and expenses...and $$$$ in storage fees might not get covered... -

Mr Zippy, where did you read the OP was paying storage fees? My reading comprehension is not the best, but I didn't see storage fees as being part of the problem. :confused5:

I think he was referring to a possible thread on the sewing site......

Bigger problem is the apparent confusion over some different threads and all of the conjecture w/o the OP clearing anything up.

Yup time to let this go until the OP post what has happened.
-
I was never told anything about a storage fee.. If that's the case they might as well keep that ****.
-
I was told by my own insurance that it should be covered. At no point was my car being modded ever an issue when it came to roadside assistance. The thing is, I'm not really being helped by the roadside assistance comp

I didn't go to best motor works because like I said, it was late at night, and the first shop I went to told me I'd have to take it to a dealer. And I couldn't think of any reputable shops that were within 6 miles from my home (near OSU)
If id known they considered reputable I would've went. Most people I asked around here referred me to the dealer so that's where I went. Also it during exam week so I didn't dwell on it too long. -

Best of luck. :fingerscrossed:

I think I've seen you around. I did recognize some of the places you posted pictures of from your facetweetagramtrist posts. I'm over in Italian Village, so if I can assist in anyway please let me know. That said I'm not as mobile as I was right now, but I'm getting there.

So you saw it as cracked and they saw it as not cracked???? Is it leaking oil? -
They are saying they aren't responsible for the tow damage.
-
Insurance is covering the damage. Already been appraised. Hopefully have a mirror to fix it by next week.
I may just have them put the belt back on, JB weld the pan then fix it myself perhaps -
Ok, so I got the car back, it's drivable but still has a chirping noise when you apply load to the motor; I think the SC is on it's way out. Am I correct

Could be as simple as the serpentine belt, tensioner or idler. Check the cheap easy stuff first. How many miles on your MINI?
