Nice use of rapid prototyping/manufacturing on the plastic ends! Now I have another good example to show others how this technology can be beneficial.

BTW, will these be CARB certified?

This particular incarnation of the IC won't be certified, but it's on our radar.

As DoS grows, we're getting closer and closer to having budgets that will (barely/just about) allow for CARB certifications on our parts. That idea wasn't even on our radar a few years ago, but the State of CA and personal motivations within the company are making that a priority.

Hi Mini'mon, can you share some data concerning the pressure drop improvement you mentioned in the OP?

I'm making some improvements to our flow-bench/flow testing setup as we wait for the latest batch of production cores to be completed. (I'm installing higher precision gauges) Once those are in, we'll be happy to share the (now more precise) pressure drop data.

Living in California and coming from the VW 1.8T world, I can tell you that CARB certification is not needed for an intercooler on a turbocharged vehicle:

I would assume that this would apply to intercoolers for superchargers as well, but who knows, it isn't specified. When I take my GTI in for its inspection and certification, I'll ask about it.

If it was red I'd sell one of my children for it.

All the blood flowed from my head to my other head.

Clint... seriously... red, dude. Got any red coating? Or red plastic?

Two tone - black tanks with red core or vice-versa would also be HAWT.

But for mine... red core would be the ticket. Gotta see red through my monster VIP scoop or if just don't look right.

Keep your offspring, but colors can be an option . . .

Because everything gets painted, on these IC's we can do custom colors for the end tanks.

The cores will be black due to the radiator paint and thermal dispersant colors that DoS has chosen. We will be putting a stencil on the cores with the company logo, so color could be a custom option for the logo color.

There would be about a ~= $50 upcharge for custom color tanks and logos due to using paint colors that we don't normally stock and the extra care that needs to be taken to have clean masking lines where the tanks meet the core etc . . .

Though we're flattered, don't give us your children as payment or we'll send them back to you with a thermos of espresso and a puppy. :D

No, PLEASE take The Mime. PLEASE.

Cool.... but there's gotta be some red thermal dispersant somewhere on this planet.

Cool, thanks. I live in Kern County, not L.A. County, so the police are not nearly as pushy about having all of the correct stickers. Still, they do tend to lean towards the "tell it to the judge" model of ticket writing.

    Damaged cores . . .

Our manufacturer did a crappy job of packing our first core order and 50% of said order arrived damaged. We are now awaiting replacement cores. :mad5::cryin::mad5:

Though shipping will be delayed, we'll have our pressure drop info posted in early January. The delays on this product have been frustrating, but the end results will be well worth the wait.

Have a great Christmas. We'll be back in action on our new IC's once those replacement cores arrive.
