So you can imagine my 'disapointment' when I found out that one of my factory Runflats had a nail in it in a spot that is considered unrepairable.:ihih: Needless to say, new rubber was the call of the day, and since I'd been planning on acquiring new rims and eventually getting snows on my OEMs, I decided to get everything taken care of in one fell swoop. I put together this package through Discount Tire Direct: The rims are from Voxx... TU3 in bronze, 16x7, offset 38, 18lbs. Tires are Hankook Ventus V4 ES in 205-50-R16
:cornut: Looks very nice and you're 6lbs lighter per wheel than the(supposed) light 24lbs factory wheels(decreasing the unsprung weight is a suspension upgrade in itself). The fact that your MINI is British Racing Green has absolutely nothing to do with my completely unbiased observation. Jason
Looks good! I lost almost as much weight on my wheels when I switched to Konig Rush from the factory bridgespokes, went to the same tire size too. Definitely feels like it gets off the line quicker.
They are actually a bronze color... it's a little subdued and dusty looking in the pics. The lip and undercuts are polished.
I've been taking it easy on them so far, between wanting to get the rubber properly scrubbed in before pushing them and simply not having had much time to 'play'. I do know that my ride is smoother and quieter compared to the Conti RFs that I took off.
The Gun Metal I have seen in person is a bronzeish color which surprised me, as I was expecting a bluish gray. Nice choice for your car. Jim
:cornut: Trashed the run flats also; Make that 10lbs per wheel (40lbs total) decrease in unsprung weight. You should certainly feel a difference in handling/braking/acceleration. Jason
