Well in my defense it has snowed 3 times in the history of East Texas, and i got caught out in it this past year. Luckily for me i was less then a mile away from a buddies house, and i crashed there the night. Was a scary situation for sure.

I was surprised, too. I've driven summer tires in the snow, but Star Specs had absolutely no traction. I think any tire with minimal tread pattern is the same way. I couldn't even accelerate out of my flat parking lot with 1" of snow.

There's two things working against you - the compound and the tread pattern.

Yeah, i think the compound had more to do with the lack of traction then anything else. Lesson learned, thats for damn sure.
