Quick question, did the walnut blasting have any seat of the pants difference? I've seen pictures of some valves that are horribly built up with carbon. Just wondering if it made any change in the running.

Actually in my case I have to say it made a noticeable improvement in the smoothness of the engine especially at idle. Power wise I can't say by seat of the pants feel. It pulls strong but I didn't have any complaints about the power before the cleaning. Before you could see the engine shaking at idle. Now it's nice and smooth. The main reason I decided to do the blasting is now im starting with a clean slate as far as the engine is concerned. I already have a BSH oil catch can and dual boost tap coming in the mail. I want to preserve the goodness.

I purchased my 2007 MCS with 45k in March and just had the walnut blasting valve cleaning done yesterday, night and day difference having those valves cleaned. I'm sure you would pull some higher numbers with a valve cleaning, it might be a little early with only 31k on your motor but it's something to think about. Every car is different though.

Yeah I'm not sure I had any severe carbon buildup at 31k miles. My symptoms were more a rough idle than power loss. I was surprised at how much the engine shook while idling. Didn't feel bad inside the car but if you opened the hood and started the car up there was a definite roughness to the engine. Having a bad HPFP probably didn't help matters either. It's hard to quantify any difference in power. The car pulled strong before the blasting. The weather in the past few days has been a lot cooler also so the car feels better but I can't say it's not because of the cooler denser air.

    LSD

    Dice,

Just wondering if you invested in the LSD? I've been out of the game for about 6 months. Getting the Lenz back in shape to start back into autox in October again. Gonna stay in DSP but move to using Street Tires. It will be a disadvantage but I just got tired of messing with changing wheels at the events.
