So I recently replaced my pulley/belt/plugs and I noticed my upped mount had failed and the lower one is on its way out too. So doing some research and have seen the TSW upper mount but dont think I want that much NVH in my DD.

I saw this and wondered if anyone had one, opinions of the design? It sort of redesigns the way the top of the engine is supported and IDK if thats a good thing or not?!?

Engine Stabilizer Upgrade - R50/52/53 Mini Cooper

They claim it wont add NVH but will work far bette than the OEM one....Thoughts?

Thanks! I actually had just stumbled on another forum where they pointed me to VIP's website. I am trying to get a better than stock replacement while minimizing NVH. This looks promising by the other forum posts I am finding, but again any help is appreciated!

Additionally, does this REPLACE the factory upper liquid filled mount? Or does it merely bolt to the top? I'm cornfused....

No, it just mounts on top of the factory mount.

I had one of the VIP mounts and took it off because the bushing always moved in the dog bone.

Buy one of these and it will be the last upper mount your car will need.

Is it worth the money? Yes it is, every last Penny.

To add to this, the stabilizer posted by the OP. The one in my car broke during an autocross session. I replaced it with the same thing but am looking for a replacement.

But what a world of difference in how the car handles with and without it!

I also have the vibra-technics mount on my car (track version because track car) and I was very impressed with the quality of the piece. I also put the street version on a friend's car when their oem failed and they couldn't detect any additional NVH like there is with the race one so they are happy too. Vibra-Technics's FAQ on why they use rubber is what made me choose their piece over the other ones available.
