Is it a maintenance warranty or a standard vehicle type warranty?

standard vehicle (mechanical) , it used to be done by a 3rd party with a larger deductible and did not cover as many parts from my understanding.
There are 2 levels to the new one.
XL (covers the bulk of items)
XXL that is the same as XL but adds the radio head unit, dvd nav, and other items of the radio only. -
I personally wouldn't go for this. Warranties are a gamble that the cost of repairs will be less than whatever you pay for the warranty so it's a gamble I'm willing to take. Also, if there's a major problem that effects safety or emissions (like the O2 sensor on some R53s) they'll extend the warranty to cover this so what you're really doing is buying a warranty to cover catastrophic part failure, or standard wear items that may need replacing. Do you think your clutch or waterpump will go out in before 100K miles? Is the cost of such a part going to exceed the cost of the warranty? Is so then grab it but my bet is both these parts will last about 130K miles (just outside of the warranties they offer).

I have my mini in service now at 46k for a blown water pump, and with the engine death rattle thing they have yet to fix but are working on, it made me paranoid.
it is runs 1300 bucks, i think it might be worth it, if its 2500, it would not be. Just have no idea about price.
