I have 2 supercharged Gen 1 MINI Cooper Ses. Supercharged, for me, are the only way to go but the Countryman only has the turbo.
Yes if you need a Countryman turbo is all they have. If you can get by with something smaller then you get more choses.
I know the turbo is in the Countryman S, but the base Countryman [the non S] may not have the turbo. You might check on that because I am not certain. I don't understand why MINI would market both Countrymen with turboes. Anyone with common sense would just buy the non S and then mod it to his own liking, I think, and save himself some money. Get a supercharged MINI [especially years '05 or '06...the last of the Gen 1 series and the best of all] with low miles [they ARE still out there].
If you think awd on all seasons is the answer you are mistaken. Snow tires on any car in the winter will let it do what you want. AWD with all seasons will not do what you want. AWD with snow tires & then you have a snow machine. PS snow ties are the answer.
Well then you have a snow machine. Good on you! Snow tires on a FWD or RWD are good too. I used to think AWD was the answer until I got real snow tires. I really enjoyed seeing the looks on peoples faces as I past them in my car.
I totally understand. Perhaps there is something in a Paceman...discontinued, but maybe you could find one that will fill your bill. Or, putting snows all the way around might also be a solution. AWD is good but not a real solution if a set of real snow tires are not added. I see a lot of AWD vehicles in ditches because the drivers rely totally on AWD to get them out of the messes they create..thinking that AWD is the solution when it really is not.
