I made my gauge mounts out of scrap metal and 2" ABS drainpipe that I already had, it took no special skills and I think it came out pretty good.








It took four tries to get the cardboard template how I wanted it. The rest was pretty easy.

You work with the skills and materials you have.

 

Just to be clear, you don't loose vent function with the P3cars gauge. I just installed one in my R53 yesterday.

Hold off on trading in Charlotte for an F56 until Kellen gets back to you on availability...

What gauges in particular are you wanting to add? I've used Marshal gauges (oil pressure, oil temp, water temp and boost) for several years and have been very happy with them. The extra effort to do the wiring is not that much. There's other options out there to be sure, but I'm happy with the choice I made a few years back. I still use my Scangauge II and am still liking it as well.

 

Glad you like our gauges! Unfortunately, it really is that hard. By 2008 all US vehicles were required to use the ISO 15765-4 signaling standard. This means that although the plug on an R53 looks the same they do not operate the same. Our software would have to be re-done from the ground up, and we just could not afford to do that at this time.

At the moment, I can't even get them made for the R56/F56, so the point may be moot.

 

Oh, ok I wasn't familiar with that. I understood the OP to have an R53. Thanks for the info.
