I've been contemplating a dual but was concerned about the available real estate under the bonnet.

    Pictures please?

In my reading...not sure where...the point was made regarding the diameter of the hoses/holes into and out of the can. I see several have fairly wide diameters but the NM Eng one seems narrower. Does anyone see that as a problem? Any experience in that regard?

Btw, thanks for all the discussion. I didn't expect this level of response for an older subject...but this has been very helpful.

There are two basic styles of Oil separator.

The typical "pressure drop" type OCC functions to reduce the velocity of the vapor/oil mist such that the oil droplets "drop out" of the flow. Inside various can designs there are mist eliminators, mesh, or other "filter" media helps to encourage the very fine mist droplets to agglomerate into larger, heavier droplets that will more easily drop out of the flow stream.

A vortex separator type of OCC uses a fast spinning stream of vapor/mist within the can to sling the heavy oil droplets out of the main flow. The heavier oil collects along the inside wall of the can and drains to the bottom. Vortex separators have a tangential inlet port to facilitate the centrifugal spinning action.. and the exit port is at the center/top of the can.

A reduced port size for the typical OCC would accelerate the flow...which would seem to be counter-productive to effective oil drop-out.

There's a couple pics of my dual OCC install in "My Garage". I'm in process of changing the air intake plumbing, but that won't affect the OCC install. No pics of the drain extension, yet --- I don't like taking my Canon under the car with me. However, here's what Saikou Michi sent me --- the dual gets two of everything.

Oldbrokenwind. I'll take that OCC off of your hands if it is still available. Sent you a PM, let me know.
