I can tell you it makes the turbo sound amazing. As far as horsepower gains I had my doubts...

Nice job! I have those same mods save for the scoop girl and my bar is 19mm and have never regretted the changes. Smiles for miles and miles. Congrats.

You may want to check your MINI FINI scoop grill...they had a batch escape that were the wrong stainless alloy. The bad batch can rust a bit along the laser cut edges. If yours is magnetic then it's part of the bad batch.

Yep, if it's magnetic, it's part of the 400 series family (probably 430 stainless steel). The 304 has more nickel and chrome to the point where it's non-magnetic and is better at resisting corrosion.... I won't stock 400 series in my shop for the simple reason it's too easy to grab the wrong alloy by mistake....

Bummer. I pick it up from Waymotorworks, and painted it flat black on both sides. If it is part of the bad batch, I hope that will help. I'll check with a magnet tomorrow.

:cornut: I have the same mods but from an unnamed company who doesn't sponsor MA. I got them years ago before there was an MA. I had to replace the silicone turbo intake hose with a non collapsible metallic pipe and now all is well.

When I installed the intake, I also installed a new FMIC, plus boost tubes, and removed the noise maker. Then, I installed the Stage1+FMIC map on my AccessPort. The car screams, and sounds amazing. Not sure if any one component was the key, but all together, I am VERY happy with the performance post install.
