I have 2005 R52 S that I got 4/29. The car runs wonderfully: however, the oil pressure warning light doesn't work. As I understand it, the light should come on at key position 2 or when the engine is cranking. Before I start tearing things apart (and maybe miss a day of sunshine :) ) I would appreciate any imput.

There are no codes. Should there be? I have an electrical oil pressure gauge ready to be installed, but haven't finished the install yet.

    Have you pulled the switch....
Being a simple pressure switch, it might just be stuck in one position aka, failed internally.

Quicker to check it with a ohm meter... If it's closed an ohm meter will let you know...

often times pulling the plug to find out if the plug is full of oil is a good way to check also.

First, as a sanity check, can you other guys verify this (I no longer have a MINI to check myself)? I know some lights come on but I don't remember if the oil light was one of them.

What i mean by my post is the plug for the pressure sender.
Sorry if that was not clear.
