Took 2009 Mini back to dealership. They couldn't find anything wrong. Mini service was puzzled about the warning light icon which I described (a door with large black exclamation mark alongside it). Said they've never heard of, nor experienced, that warning light icon. Service department says no fault codes showed up.

:cornut: Please forgive an old man's Alzheimers but I just remembered that this exact same condition happened to Mini Margi 2yrs ago. Fob in docking station,'click' and nothing. Retry several times and 'Varoom' she starts. Or,with fob in docking station, click.......click.....click......nothing(ignition is on and every thing works but starter won't turn or engage). A mechanical/electrical friend of mine looked under the dash and found a rusted/corroded electrical terminal. We cleaned the terminal and no problem since. Hope that helps.
