i got a new AC-Delco ignition coil from a user but i noticed collars inside the bolt holes...but the OEM coil has no collars as the collars are around the bolts themselves...is there a way to remove them?replacement bolts?
MSD is the same way. I swung by ACE hardware and bought some fancy flange headed bolts. 6mm I think? I also used the OEM rubber "washer" between the coil and the engine, not sure if it matters.
The sleeves will come off the oem bolts, as I used the ones that came with the MSD kit but since they had no fixed washer-head the oem rubber vibration washers spugged out. I used the oem ones without the collars and used thick o rings for the vibration dampers.
Another way might be? 6mm Stainless Steel (SS) thread stock, nylon bushing to raise coil up allow for air under coil SS flat washers and SS cap nuts.
You know I had to look at my MINI....on the body's exterior the mirror caps and my Mynes decal are the only things RED. Heck the Mynes decal is worth 30more HP alone!
I just held the sleeve with a visegrip, not too tight and then used socket and racket to thread out the bolt. I do like that other idea also, very nice.
