got back like 15 ago. I had no idea what was goin on lol. I was thinking we'd end up at some ice cream place lol. No biggie
Just walked in. Hey..... I had a great time with you guys. It was nice meeting everyone and finally connecting a face with some of the M/A members. Hope Lil Pig made it back OK?
Awesome day that one section of road was so awesome we had to drive it 3 times Chuck and Babs thanks for leading all day I know it is difficult to pace a group but you really did a great job. I will get my pictures loaded later tonight... I hope.
Chuck & Babs...... It was really nice meeting the two of you. Thanks for taking the time and effort the both of you put into making this run. It was well thought out and entertaining. Chuck, You mentioned the 2011 River Run, That's one I don't want to miss next year.
Glad everyone had a good time. We sure did. Jason I hope your Mini is OK. Sorry you had to turn back, but at least you weren't 150 miles from home. Best ice cream ever! Thanks for the pictures guys. I hope to have my up tomorrow.
Boy did you miss a good drive. The only oops was a MINI equipped with all seasons. The weather was fine & the traffic was light. Catch us next time.
Chuck, The Mini seems ok. I wanted to keep up but I wasn't per paired for the high speeds. I have run that fast before but not for that long of a time. Thanks for letting me tag along. I will have to figure something out for next time.
Yeah I second the track day feeling. My arms and hands hurt. It isn't easy throwing the turns at those high speeds. I am really looking forward to buying some performance rubber next spring and buying some suspension. I am not too concerned about the power after driving around like that. I found a new love. The Triple Nickel is incredible! Even when the MINI behind you is blasting at you with his "Spin-out Ray"! Thanks Brian! Lesson Learned: Don't bury your front tire into a turn right after going over a blind hump, because there might be gravel. :eek6:
I think this was my favorite drive we have done! They have all been fun, but this one seemed to be the most challenging. The directions were so easy that even the "3 blind mice" could find their way to Tom's after getting separated from the group. I do need to get an Ohio map for in the car. Public service announcement Hughes my new friend, spend your money on some track time & instruction. That is the road to becoming a better safer driver. For what you will spend on sticky tires you can get a track day in & be better for it. Run some auto x too, it's cheap & will teach you the limits of your car in a safe environment. Just my .02 from an old guy who has seem some stuff in his day.
+1 on Chuck's recommendation. It is easier to learn how the car reacts at its limits when the limits are lower, then add grip to increase the limits. A year of running with the Miata AutoX group will help you 10X more than a new set of tires. The problem with adding grip is you add speed and when you add speed you add consequences. The nice thing about the Miata club is you get a tight course wo while the speeds are not high the limits are constantly tested, you also get a bunch of runs for a low price.
