Looks like I missed a great drive! I was going to just park the MINI for the winter but missing this drive has prompted me to invest in some snow tires for the winter. My current west coast tires do not like anything under about 45, they get very slimy.
Sean, I ran on summer performance tires Saturday and it added to the excitement. It was like driving on hockey pucks but I had a blast. Once they got warmed up on 555 they were good the rest of the day :aureola:
Ha..... I did it on those stiff Dunlop run flats, and still had loads of fun. Can't wait until they need to be replaced.
In the temps we saw no one was going to have a problem with summer tires. Another 10 degrees colder & it might have been another story. I kind of wish we'd headed over to Fly & took a ferry ride. Maybe next time we'll do a spring drive & leave a bit earlier to cover more ground.
