I did not get the P0420 code for years and then it was just started popping up. I would clear it and it would come back a few weeks later. I got two new oem O2's and it was gone and then started popping back up again.

I said F it and got the extender and it has not come back since.

The RMW header is great, but you can still get a P0420 code, as I just found out, but with the addition of a spacer to the downstream sensor it is easily remedied.

The only high-flow cats that I have seen consistently work are HJS cats. The only problem is their price: they're very expensive. I've had spotty luck with the defoulers (extensions), whether they be right-angled or straight.

If you want to do it right, spring for the HJS cat. It'll hurt the wallet, but reduce headaches in the long run.

I personally don't like any of them because they can be more of a pain then they are worth.

I have an RMW header with OEM O2's (Pre and Post CAT) and do not have codes.

A quality tested header make all the difference.

I've run the plain-vanilla generic 4 wire (you only use 3) O2 simulator for several years, and have had no problems until just recently. Some combination of the new ECU, new tune, or something isn't letting the catalyst testing complete successfully, thinks the O2 is stuck lean, even though I can monitor it and it's sending signals as it should.

I know the length of the one Jan sells isn't an issue, but it looked like the link the OP posted was longer that what I thought Jan was selling...

Jan said not to use the 90 degree ones. Just the straight one.

Yeah, I think the 90 puts it too far from the flow.

Been using Random Technologies CAT's. Keep blowing them out.

    Header is RMW Race.

Problem with that one is likely to be length, given the position of the R53 downstream O2 sensor

Yup, I forgot I added the extender a while back from Jan and it only cost $20.00.

It may be the cheapest RMW part he sells.

I never had an issue for years (5+) then that damn P0420 kept popping up from time to time.

It's basically a defouler with catalytic material in it.

The have one that's a 90 degree as well, but it doesn't specifically state that it has the catalyst material in it.
