I looked at the receipt and it turns out only the left axle was replaced. I took the wheels off and it turns out I actually do have two broken sensors. The passenger side has cut wires. The end of the driver side sensor was broken off.
I twisted the wires together and I was able to clear the code on the right side. I took that sensor and put it on the left and cleared that code. I really like knowing for sure what the problem is instead of ordering parts and hoping that will fix it.

Word of advice, do not buy from ECS they charge crazy shipping and have No support. Buy the FOXWELL NT520 -PRO hand held from Amazon as it will do everything you need on one unit. You can also get support from FOXWELL.

Welcome to M/A.
I don't know what code reader you need, but someone will be here shortly to tell you which one does the MINI/BMW secret handshake.
My guess is that a wheel speed sensor is unplugged damaged or FUBAR in some other way.
Tell us where you are & maybe someone is close who can help.-

Yes I got it from ECS before I found out the truth about ECS. It was on sale. I think I made around 150. It reads all the codes, will activate systems to run checks, and you can do real time data logging.
I am sure you can get it from some one els other than ECS. None of our friendly vendors carry it.-

Thanks for all the feedback. I ended up getting a Foxwell NT520. So far I'm happy with it. I'll probably like it better once I figure out all the functions. I'm still trying to figure out how to save data and review it. I didn't realize until after I bought it that I could add another make of vehicle for $60.
It told me both my left and right ABS sensors are bad, so I need to get get the wheels off and see what's going on.-

likely related to the new axles, not the sensors. Those sensors were there before, but you swapped out the axles the sensors read off. Maybe unplugged, but if the wires look good and the sensors are clean (removed with one bolt) I would bet your axles send a signal the computer doesn't like. Did you compare the axles directly side by side after OEM removal to make sure they matched at that end where the markings for the sensor are?

I didn't do the work myself so I wasn't able to compare. The person doing the work is the one that purchased them. What you are saying makes sense. It seems unlikely that two sensors would both go out at the same time.
