There is a big difference between what the CAN bus can communicate with and what it sends out thru the OBDII port. It is widely agreed to that the update speed thru the OBDII port is about 1 per second on the MINI.
Here is a thread that explains a bit more about it.

Is the Aeroforce gauge the only OBDII device that seems to update faster than once per second in a Mini? Hard to believe no other products can. Todd at Aeroforce bascially just said you get what you pay for and they update quicker than once per second in a Mini.

At this point I don't believe it can, no matter what the sales guy said.

I just plugged in my scan tool (maxiscan ms509) and selected rpm - it was updating faster than I could read the numbers, so definitely more than once per second.
The update frequency does slow down if you view multiple data simultaneously though. I'm not sure if that's limited by the car or the scan tool.
Oh and that stupid p115C error is back again.:mad2: -
Borrowed a flip video and recorded this today. Camera picked up a lot of glare but top is coolant temp and bottom is boost. Seems like its updating more than once per second.
