Richard Lin came to Thousand Oaks today to teach us all how to get our shine on! We had a great turnout, about 25 people come out witha variety of cars, from a dozen MINIs to a gorgeous 32 Ford roadster as well as an original 1970 Buick GSX . Motoring Magic provided a Pizza lunch, and several folks got to try thier hands at polishing with a machine and loaded up on thier favorite products. Pics below, I am sure Richard will add more.
Scott, thanks for hosting. Your shop is just a wonderful place to hang out and host events. I'll definitely be back again. We had a good crowd of people who all went away a lot more knowledgeable than before the event. I'm getting all the pix ready, and will post them soon. Thanks again!!! Richard
Here is my lovely assistant! The participants were comfortably seated Using my 3M Sun Gun, I evaluated the paint in front of them. Answered some questions from the owner in black with the white cap. Then got the participants blood flowing by having them relocate behind the car. Participants listened intently My friend Michael Chang had a camera too, and will be sending me the pix tomorrow.
Here are some more pix from the event. Performing a test on this old classic. After several passes the results were spectacular. Then I had the owner do another spot. He was very afraid of the polisher but after the clinic, he was ready to polish like a pro! Here I am holding on to the end to show him the right speed to move the buffer. Soon enough he was all on his own The owner is looking pretty confident, I don't see any fear in his eyes! Inspecting the results! He was very pleased! Demoing PreWow on a car that was detailed by a dealership cause their "free car wash" swirled out the paint, and they left wax/polish residue on all the trim. Applying Black Wow as the owner looks on
I would have loved to attended... (Jealous :cryin Unfortunately there isn't any Mini specific shops in my area. The closest one is over an hour away in Miami.
