It will try and dip the window when frozen. If the window actually has a lot of ice, not frost, best to scrape off the glass before opening the door.

You guys have it easy in some ways - it freezes and stays frozen. Over here winter temperatures are often below freezing at night and above in the day. So one day this week we had snowfall in the morning, thaw in the afternoon and heavy freeze at night, so I found that not only wouldn't the window dip, the whole glass was frozen to the weatherseal on my Roadster's roof. I had to pluck up the courage to just yank (/hoik/wrench) the door open.

And then I got to 50mph and found that the boot spoiler was also frozen down, so the car went into a bonging frenzy with dire warning on the Visual Boost screen saying 'Reduce Speed' and 'visit dealer'. Dropping below 32mph did not stop the bonging, and neither did stopping to switch off the ignition. Luckily a bit of sunshine during my first job enabled me to clear away the ice, though the obsessive detailers would have had a heart attack to see me using an ice scraper inside the recess under the spoiler once I got it to go up.....

 

:cornut: It sounds like that you've never been to Texas. The day/night drastic change is often the Texas norm. It is also said that," if you don't like Texas weather, stick around, it'll change."

Silicones are inert.... They have no effect on aging of rubber....
However rubber is not inert and will age....

I spray the window weatherstrip with aerosol silicone..... when dry, it prevents this bond from occurring....

 

It's going to take a LOT more than a little frost lol

 

Wow spoiler nanny sounds like she doesn't like you. Maybe it's just the cold weather that put her in a bad mood. :wink:

Silicone spry on the weather strips really does help.

 

Also normal around here.......

And the 303 Protectant works great at keeping the rubber seals from freezing to the metal parts w/o aging the rubber like silicone does.
