    No, I don't know. Will have to ask the mechanic who dx it while replacing the oil pan gasket.

    Not sure. The ones on the Gen two work well. Is your power steering still covered by the recall?

    A few years ago there was a recall on the power steering and I don't remember if it was the pump or something else dealing with the power steering. I would have to search my files to find out what they replaced.
    Is it a one time only replacement?

    I would look at the hoses first, especially if they original.

    It was the pump they replaced in mine. @00Mini and @GokartPilot are right it is usually the hoses. Those stupid crimp clamps BMW uses get weak and leak. I replaced mine with normal screw clamps. Mine were leaking bad.

    I had the recall on my 2004 and the dealer did the work in 2018 and all they did was replace "input cabl". I am wondering if they were supposed to replace the pump and not just the cable?

    I got a new pump. The recall was because the pump would get hot and stop working.

    Are you sure the leak is not coming from the hoses ??
