Well..... great surprise this morning... The wife walks in and wants to know if we are going to MSSD again for this year. So I hold my excitement.... Ohhh, I don't know, did you have fun last year????? Well, turns out she had a great time, but this year she wants to do it without Kee the Chihuahua. Turns out she had a real problem holding the dog and all without being able to grab onto the hand holds for bracing...... go figure. She liked the Fall colors, the Fall temperature and all the great MINI people associated with the Tar Heel MINI club. Soooo, has the date been set? Will want to contact Fontana next week to find out room availability in the lodge. Can't wait......
Well, the temps are very nice in April too, everything is lush and green, Tar Heels MINI's are three as well and there are vendor tents where you can spend money on Fungo. You should try MOTD this year. Jim
Was seriously thinking about it...... Probably waited too long for a room at the Fontana Lodge. To make it green, it's gotta rain.:incazzato: Yep..... The vendor tents. Don't think we can do both with running the business. The Fall runs last year were really nice though.
I'm sure Kee thinks staying home is a good idea too. :cornut: I understand your problem with the dates. Maybe next year. MOTD really is a good time. Jim
Forum space for the event has already been created... Minis Slay the Sleeping Dragon (October 21 - 23, 2011) - Motoring Alliance :: MINI Cooper Forums
MM Maybe this time we cross paths, this is a not to be missed Although a Dragon run or 8 along with the Blue Ridge Pkwy run with the Tar Hell folks in June or so has crossed my mind as well
PS-good way to keep up with MSSD and Blue Ridge Pkwy run is the THMC website Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club - Welcome to Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club
Just a little plug for the club: The Tar Heel Mini Motoring Club is now the third largest Mini club in North America!! I've enjoyed being a member for a long time now, great folks and great drives! We got that big from driving our Minis not just talking about them!!! ...and to think that Twister started the club with just a handful of folks not that very long ago. 2000 plus members and growing every single day!
MM, I think you should show your wife how excited you are and buy her a Bowling Shirt. Kee might like one too. Jim
WOOT.... My wife told me today we have a room booked in the Fontana lodge for the MSSD 2011 event. Can't wait for the Fall now
Thanks Mark (Twister), for letting my wife and I run with all the fine folks of the "Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club"! Chuck
Indeed! Ah, yes...bowling shirts in the mountains of North Carolina! Kinda reminds me of the story of Rip Van Winkle and his discovery of the mountain elves playing ninepins! I wonder if THEY had their MA bowling shirts on, too!:ihih:
100 years from now, there will be stories told around the camp fires of the days of the M/A Wee Bowling League. It is said that the swish or the Wii controllers can still be heard on a quite night. Jim
