I think its fabulous! They just need to slope the roof drastically toward the rear creating a more aerodynamic and fuel friendly MINI. Think the same roofline of a Prius, with that ever sexy finding (or has it found) Nemo front end. The tail lights are probably 200+ square inches of pure safety enhancing plastic protruding from the new bigger (for golf clubs, kittens, and rainbows, plus half the population of Wyoming) boot like afterburners on a jet. Plus you get four full doors that look absolutely MINI in a BMW sort of way. They don't look out of place at all either! Its like the mini should have looked in 1958 when the first one rolled off the line.
I think it is just sweet! And you don't need to worry about the youngsters making a rice rocket out of it either... They separated the rear struts into a shock after coil setup for better handling right out of the box, making it impossible for those damn kids to slam it down on coilovers.I hate looking at slammed MINIs, we need more wheel gap, and ground clearance if you ask me... And some decent tires that will last more than the factory warranty, because nobody should be taking away from BMW's design with those ugly aftermarket wheels the racecar wannabes like to put on them.
Dont even get me started on the front of the car, I will just say, I AM IN LOVE!
Going to part my R53 out, and place my F54 preorder today! Whats $40K for such a beautiful high tech, and extremely reliable piece of machienery?I am soooo getting the first one in Colorado!

If you love your POS R53 you dont have to agree with me... I sure as hell DONT!
It actually hurt inside to type out the above post! Where is the PUKE smiley? That is how I really feel about the entire car!

I don't think even BMW knows what they are doing, to me it looks like they are fishing with dynamite, let's throw something out there and see what comes up.
That thing just makes me want to gag.-

The whole reason that I bought my Gen 1 is that it stood out from the crowd. On a dealer lot of generic, cookie-cutter dross it looked different. If this is the way forward(?) for MINI, my next car will probably be along the lines of a Focus ST, or I will justa keep my Gen 1.

Well thats all fine and dandy...
For myself, and quite a few other MINI purists, my next vehicle purchase wont be with MINI. Let the Prius driving hipsters have the brand! MINI has already abandoned what attracted us to it, so why would the people who let the brand not tank in 2002 not move on.-

Doesn't look any worse than a Golf 4dr, or any other hatch that we're used to seeing with 2 dr proportions.
And I also think it will sell, just like 4 dr Golf's sell well, and the 4 dr Countryman that is currently 33% of MINI sales.
Face it, people with families need 4 drs, but there's no reason now that they have to drive a big honkin ute of some kind.
I think it definitely looks better than a 500L.......
Just think the more of these on the road, the fewer F150's, Escalades, Armadas etc.-

The problem with what BMW is doing is that it's working. Sales keep going up year after year (17% for May and 12% for this year so far), despite the fact that many of the things that made BMW successful in the first place - simple but well-engineered German vehicles, emphasis on the driving experience, reasonable and efficient size - have disappeared. I saw a new 435i from a distance a couple of weeks ago and thought it was an Impala. Up close, the 435i is huge. :frown5:
That might be one reason why the new 2 Series is selling so well - it's a fun-size car.-

Recognizable as a MINI in this view:
But here it looks like some Japanese/German/Korean/French/Italian mashup;
I'm okay with MINI building this car. I just want them to also have a genuinely small car. I hope something comes out of the rumored Rocketman collaboration with Toyota. As it is, I'll be done with MINI after my R52.
BTW, it's F55 not F54.-

N2MINI MINI of the Month
What is it going to replace. Don't need that along with paceman and clubman. While it is not for me there will be some families that like MINIs but could really use the extra doors/space.
