The Golf 4-door is exactly the same as the 2-door. Same wheelbase, just an extra set of doors. This is taller, longer, and just looks odd. They could've done better. Those rear doors are so small, I think it's going to be next to impossible to get in and out unless you are 4' tall, or are in the Ringling Bros circus

I kinda like it. If I still had some small kids in the mix, I'd consider it.

They are going to have 3 cars/vehicles that are competing for the same market of people. The Clubman came out to have alittle more room for families!! remember that. Now you have the Paceman and I'm not sure who they are really marketed towards and those people don't either as I don't think it is selling well. Now you come out with the 4 door MINI for the FAMILY again. Something has to go or none of the 3 are going to sell well. Maybe this is to weed out which one or two doesn't sell. Plus I wish they'd get away from trying to make all of them look "kinda" alike just bigger ( BMW ) and go ahead and give them different front ends. Why have every car in your line up have the same front end. I know I know you say that BMW does it but think about it. From the 2 car on up they all are the same basic shape just get bigger/longer and sleeker. Once you get past the first few 2,3,4, they start losing their "lines" and it's more of a luxury car. Do you think Chevy could get away with the same front end on the, Malibu, Corvette, Camaro, Volt, trucks, etc... Mazda tried it with the smiley face front end and now is getting away from it..

I don't think it is any worse than the F56. The new Clubman is going to grow a lot so this is sort of the "real" replacement for it. I agree it will sell very well. 4 doors with out the weight Countryman

So do Toyota's... Even though their cars are uglier and outclassed than ever ever before. Just shows how stupid the average consumer is.

Haven't seen any weight specs yet. The F56 S auto already weighs 2800LBS. This is on a longer wheelbase, more overhang (didn't think possible), has two extra sets of doors, has an extra "seat", and is uglier. Wouldn't be surprised if this tips the scale close to 3000lbs.

Just having different tastes and needs than yours doesn't make the average consumer stupid. My 89-year-old father-in-law, for example, doesn't need a JCW Convertible - but his Honda Accord suits him just fine.

I think it looks more balanced than the F56. The extra 6 inches at the back kind of complete the car and fixes much of what I didn't care for about the hatchback.

I'm more inclined to get a roadster or coupe for my next MINI, but this doesn't bother me. It might be more suitable for The Girl™ than me, but that's part of market diversity. :)

My wife just ordered one...Midnight Black to CAMO the bumper into the car...our 2011 CM ALL4 will be gone in a couple of weeks.

My wife is going to keep it stock...I told her the only change is to do the RSB.

She's into the UJ graphics...Thank god, I have Roadster.
