The problem with what BMW is doing is that it's working. Sales keep going up year after year (17% for May and 12% for this year so far), despite the fact that many of the things that made BMW successful in the first place - simple but well-engineered German vehicles, emphasis on the driving experience, reasonable and efficient size - have disappeared. I saw a new 435i from a distance a couple of weeks ago and thought it was an Impala. Up close, the 435i is huge. :frown5: That might be one reason why the new 2 Series is selling so well - it's a fun-size car.
