Mitsubishi expects $1.4 billion loss after mileage cheating.....

Seems like all they would need to do is let a little air out of the tires and print new gas mileage window stickers...:p

I had read when VW was first found out about a Ford engineer saying all of the Ecoboast engines were designed to be diesels. They couldn't get then certified & couldn't understand how VW could. That's why your Ecoboast burns gas not diesel.

    Latest reports indicate surprising results....

Test fleets of repurposed diesels driving around Beijing are dramatically improving air quality...

Hans, one of the testing engineers, reports that it's amazing to be driving behind one of these repurposed diesels..... "It's like you are driving in a clear tunnel with brand new asphalt being spread on the ground...."

The diesel engine has the ability of running on very bad air quality, and via the combustion process, is able to convert the exhaust into harmless carbon particulates that simply falls to the ground. These black particles eventually become energy rich coal and can be very economically harvested with existing street sweeping equipment and later sold to coal fired businesses for heating....

Local pencil manufacturers are performing exhausted testing.... Results are showing promise....:D

The VW diesels fail on one pollutant that is most strict in the US than anywhere else. After doing some looking around the best I can find is that the pollution is measured at the tail pipe with no regard for miles. If the non-compliant VW can go x miles on a gallon more than a compliant VW doesn't pollute less over all.

    Well that's any easy fix...
Just increase the diameter to increase the rolling distance...

Did that guy really need to do that?

    What a jerk...

Yeah, VW did some underhandedness, they got caught and it's moving ahead... slowly (it's a complicated mess)...

VW may put him very last to be compensated.... If he ever does get compensated...

Dune buggies, Baja Bugs, and sand rails were all a lot of fun in the from the 60s well into the 90s. They are far and few these days. I built a couple of Baja bugs and sold an old Manx dune buggy I never got around to restoring.

If I had a Jetta diesel, I'd keep it. An original Jetta Diesel may be worth some money someday.

A dozen of them probably pollute less than my old F350 diesel.

I'll bet the guy that stripped the VW thinks... "Hey I took it apart.... I'll put it back together"... No one will be the wiser.....

Yeah, like he's going to put it back into the same condition as if it came off the assembly line.... Good luck with that...

Car "A" built and assembled by robots that were programed to do it right...

Car "B" built by Joe Schmo, who can take things apart and sometimes amature legal document reader....

That video of Lehto's law didn't stay up long.....
